XXIII, Johanni Freind Richardus Mead, Index. Title page has the signature of John Howship (1781-1841) an English surgeon remembered for the Howship Romberg sign. Worked at St Georges Infirmary in London as an assistant surgeon, was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and also lectured at St Georges Hospital Medical School.  DimensionsApprox. 8.5" tall.  Date1767  ConditionIn reasonably good order. Wear to upper and lower covers, loss of leather to the corners and some loss along the edges. Heavy wear along the joints, some lifting of the leather. Browning to the end papers, some light foxing in places. Small ink stain to the edge of three pages (not detrimental).
