Zhongli Quan, also known as Han Zhongli as he is believed to have been born into the Han dynasty. He is depicted holding a fan made of feathers and horse hair. He is one of the eight immortals and the legend is that he uses the fan to raise the dead and he is also able to make gold and silver from stones.
Lan Caihe also being one of the eight immortals is usually depicted carrying a basket of fruit (and / or ) flowers, which symbolise longevity. Lan is the patron of gardeners and florists. Legend narrates that Lan never ages and so is the symbol of innocence and eternal youth.
