19thc music box, possibly Swiss, of large proportions. Has bells drum and bellows beneath. Ormolou mountsand borders. For restoration. No name visible, but there is a makers mark that looks like a Chimera.

19thc Shibayama writing box

19thc Shibayama writing box. Red lacquer painted with flowers, bone inlaid top depicting an eagle and a crane. Drawer to the right side. Top opens to reveal a compartment shaped like Mount Fuji with three cranes flying by. Front the n folds down to reveal a red velvet covered writing slope. There are covered compartments and a compartment beneath the writing slope.

Tunbridge ware writing slope, Henry Hollamby c1870

A delightful rosewood Tunbridge ware writing slope by Henry Hollamby, circa 1870. Complete with original mosic topped ink bottle's. The cental mosaic image depicts Battle Abbey Gatehouse, which is surmounted by a geometric design and then both are surrounded with a border of flowers.The top flap lifts to reveal the ink wells and little compartments, one of which is has a mosaic lid. The other flap lifts out to reveal an embossed velvet writing slope.The top flap lifts to reveal a compartment beneath. As a reference : the book 'Tunbridge Ware' by Brian Austen, plate 22.
