19thc portrait of William Burden Muller by Hubert Von Herkomer (later Sir 1849-1914) monogrammed and dated '85 above the left shoulder, this is partially obscured by the frame. In a good Kent frame. Provenance: Shakenhurst Hall, Cleobury Mortimer. Hubert Von Herkomer was a Bavarian born British painter who was Knighted in 1907 by Edward VII.

17thc portrait of a gentleman, believed to be John Dee. In a carved contemporary distressed silvered frame. Artist unknown. Oil on canvas. John Dee (1527-1608) was Elizabeth I court adviser and astronomer. He was also a teacher, mathematician, astrologer, occultist and alchemist. He was in and out of favour through his life and died in poverty.
