The Medical Works of Richard Mead M.D. Physician to His Late Majesty King George II, printed for Thomas Ewing in Dame Street Dublin 1767. Octavo, full leather, tool work spine. Five fold out pages. Memoirs of the life and writings of the author, A Mechanical Account of Poisons in several Essays, A Treatise concerning the Influence of the Sun and the Moon upon Human Bodies and diseases thereby produced, A Discourse on the Plague, Rhazes treatise on the small-pox and measles, An Historical account of a new method for extracting the foul air out of ships, &c., A discourse on scurvy, Medical precepts and cautions, Medica Sacra, Oratio anniversaria Harveniana: In theatro Regii Medicorum Londinensium Collegii habita, ad Diem XVIII Octobris, M.DCC. XXIII, Johanni Freind Richardus Mead, Index. Title page has the signature of John Howship (1781-1841) an English surgeon remembered for the Howship Romberg sign. Worked at St Georges Infirmary in London as an assistant surgeon, was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and also lectured at St Georges Hospital Medical School.

The medical works of Richard Mead 1767
Lincolnshire in 1836 displayed in a series of nearly one hundred engravings, on steel and wood with accompanying description, statistical and other important information, maps, &c. Published by John Saunders Jun MDCCCXXXVI. Half calf and marbled boards. Gold lettering and tool work to the spine. Previous owners label to end paper 'Ex Libris John Herbert Holman Sutcliffe'. Containing a map of the Parlimentary Representation of Lincolnshire. 27 full page engravings of important buildings including the Stump, Old Hall Gainsborough etc. And other printed images. Shows the net income and taxes of the Church personnel for the time.

The History of Lincolnshire nearly 100 engravings
Contarini Fleming A romance by B. Disraeli, M.P., copyright edition, Leipzig Bernhard Tauchnitz 1846. Leather bound with gold lettering to the spine. Bound within the pages is a letter (with envelope and printed portrait card of Disraeli), dated February 17th 1865, signed by Disraeli to the historical scholar Rawdon Brown thanking him for the copy of the preface to the Venetian Calendar. A note on the envelope says 'Received in Casa delta Vida 26 February 1865'. Probably written by Rawdon Brown. This is a little piece of history!
