George I bronze bell weight. Marked 14ilbs Avoir to the top of the handle. Has the dagger mark denoting its manufacture in London, George I's cypher, A - Avoirdupois and a coffee pot. A rare thing.

An 18thc bronze of Diana of Gabii who is believed to represent the goddess Artemis. After the sculpter Praxiteles to whom the original is traditionally attributed and can be found in The Louvre. Unsigned. Artemis is the goddess of childbirth and chastity and also vegetation and wild animals.
